Issues of Oppression
Racism, antisemitism, homophobia, and sexism are examples of oppression. My office is a safe place to talk about racism and other forms of oppression. Part of healing oppression comes from examining all of our own biases and participation in creating oppression. I welcome any and all clients to explore their own inner biases, in order to shift and heal them.

Racism and other forms of oppression leave deep and lasting marks on individuals and communities. Opressed people experience discrimination and barriers to eduction, employment, housing, healthcare, etc. These impacts affect generations. Oppression takes a serious toll on mental and physical health. These effects create societies that are harmed by the very systems that they create. While therapy cannot fix oppression, it can be a safe, supportive space to process the pain, and help people name and validate their experiences, and develop healthy tools for coping with ongoing stress and trauma.
