EFT Therapy
Attachment is at the primary structure of all relationships. Emotionally focused therapy is focused on creating healthy attachments patterns, de-escalating negative cycles, deepening bounding and healing attachment wounds. Painful attachment patterns and wounds can be caused by childhood wounding with parents, or wounds in relationships later in life. I am a certified EFT therapist and certified EFT supervisor for couple (EFCT), individual (EFIT) , and family (EFFT) therapy. I have been doing this work since about 2008. I was one of the 7 founders of the Boulder, CO EFT Community. and I am currently the Supervisor at Large on the board of the NM Community for EFT.

Couple Therapy
EFT Couples Therapy
Couples therapy is the best investment you can make in your relationship, whether you are in a new couple or have been together a long time. EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) has the highest success rate of any type of couples therapy. I am a certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist and a certified Supervisor as well. EFT is recognized by the American Psychological Association as an evidence based form of therapy for couples in distress.
If your relationship is new it’s great to insure it with the strength, protection, and prevention couples therapy can offer. If you’ve been together for a while but are having problems, the sooner you come in the easier and quicker it will be to help shift the music from that of stress and discontent to something more beautiful and fulfilling. And even for couples who have had major longstanding problems, studies show that the success of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy is not dependent on the level of distress the couple comes in with.
Couples therapy can be an intense process but EFT has, at its foundation, safety for both partners within the couple. This safety helps us work to de-escalate the negative cycle you’ve been in, while creating stronger and more lasting bonds than you have ever had. EFT has successfully helped many couples regardless of what brings them in: intense arguing, an affair, a long-standing pattern of disconnection, having the same arguments over and over, empty nest transition, sexual problem, sex addiction, or something else.
I have experience with, and enjoy working with all kinds of couples: lesbian, queer, gay, bi, trans, straight, poly, ENM, kink, or monogamous.
You may read more here, about the kinds of issues and treatment modalities I have experience working with.

Individual Therapy
With individuals I use various modalities, including Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, Parts work, Somatic work, Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment, Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (for OCD / Anxiety), EMDR, Brainspotting, nervous system regulation, and psychodynamic psychotherapy, etc.

Family Therapy
In addition to my couples and individual work I love doing Emotionally Focused Family Therapy. I work with adult families to try to heal old and / or new wounds in a family. Sometimes a pair of siblings come, sometimes a parent and adult child, and at other times the entire family of origin. This work is often powerful and has the potential to change the experience of multiple generations of a family. Expecially during a time where cut-offs are more popular than in the past, EFFT can provide a different path for healing, repair, and connection.
