Dissociation
Dissociation is the mind’s way of protecting oneself from overwhelming experiences. It can feel like being detached from your boy or surroundings, gaps in memory, feeling numb or feeling that things around you aren’t real. Dissociation can be mild to severe and often comes up for people who have experienced trauma. See my page on Trauma to learn more about how I work with Dissociation and other trauma symptoms.
